How much will I earn with Sedo's parking program?

The best way to discover how much money you might make is to test out Sedo's award-winning parking program for yourself.  Potential parking earnings vary depending on a combination of the factors below:

Number of Domains:
Generally, parking more domains increases earnings.  However, one high-quality domain with many visits and clicks could do just as well as a portfolio of many domains with few visits/clicks.

Domain Quality:
As mentioned above, higher-quality domains tend to perform better.  A very generic, single-word domain name (such as car.com) will naturally receive more visits, and when optimized correctly, has the greatest chances of click-throughs.  Longer domains, or those with a less-popular extension, may not receive as many visitors.

Traffic:
The amount and type of traffic a domain receives greatly impacts domain and keyword performance.  Natural, targeted traffic performs the best, and usually refers to visitors who have typed the domain name into their browsers; these visitors are the most likely to click on advertisement links.  Those clicks generally have a high conversion rate for the advertising sponsors, which helps to increase the value of a specific keyword and the amount you can earn for each click.  Artificially inflated traffic results in fewer clicks, lower conversion rates for sponsors, and can ultimately lower the value of each advertisement link.

Selected Keyword:
Keywords are sold through an auction-based format in which more competitive keywords have a better associated Earnings per Click (EPC), and bid prices update frequently based on demand.  Only relevant keywords should be used for a parked domain.  A high-paying keyword that does not relate to the domain name will generate ads, but those ads may not be of interest to visitors and might garner very few clicks.  This would result in a low Click-through Rate (CTR), even if the domain receives a lot of traffic.

Because of the fluctuating nature of keyword values (and the value of each advertisement link), it can be difficult to provide an exact amount you may earn per click.  Remember the following when choosing keywords to help maximize your CTR, EPC, and overall earnings:
  • Use one specific keyword or phrase that is relevant to your domain name.
  • Limit the length of your keyword to 3 words to avoid the appearance of irrelevant advertisements on your domain.
  • When using multiple words, our ad provider will try to find advertisements for phrases from which those words overlap.
